October 2009 - Hogofilm-Animated Short Film Psych Out Official Selection At The 2009 "Imagine Science Film Festival"


Animation was provided by Hogofilm for this comedic educational short film, an official selection at the Imagine Science Film Festival. The Imagine Science organization promotes collaborations between artists and scientists, to make science accessible and stimulating to a broader audience.

October 2008 - IRrelevant Astronomy Nominated For 2008 Podcast Award

This NASA internet series was a top-10 finalist at the 2008 Podcast Awards in the Technology/Science division. The series is written & directed by Tim Pyle, and Hogofilm has contributed animation since the series launched in early 2008.

October 2008 - M51 & Gizmo Wins 2008 Kids First Award

Hogofilm's animated short film M51 & Gizmo won a Best Of Festival award at the Kids First Film Festival. It took first place in the category of Independent Short Short, Ages 5-12.

This prestigious annual award is sponsored by the Coalition for Quality Children's Media.

October 2007 - Decaying Orbit Takes Home Awards from Shockerfest

Hogofilm's feature film Decaying Orbit was nominated for three awards at the Shockerfest International Film Festival, taking home one 1st place and two 2nd place awards.

Osa Wallander won the award for Best Actress in a Sci-Fi/Fantasy film, for her role as "Winnie" in Decaying Orbit. The film itself was up for "Best Sci-Fi Feature" for which it won second place. Andy Allen also won second place for Best Actor in a Sci-Fi/Fantasy film, for his role as "Rob."

October 2007 - Decaying Orbit Nominated for Claw Award

Hogofilm's feature film Decaying Orbit was nominated for a Best Feature Film Claw Award at the Terror Film Festival in Philadelphia, PA. It was one of seven finalists up for the award.

July 2007 - Hogofilm Wins CINE Golden Eagle for NASA Animation


Hogofilm has won a Spring 2007 CINE Golden Eagle Award for a 5 minute cartoon produced for NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope. Entries were judged by at least two juries using standards of overall excellence, evaluating such criteria as writing, sound, editing, creativity, and visual presentation.


Winter 2006 - Hogofilm Wins Aegis Award For NASA Animation


Hogofilm has won a 2006 Aegis Award for a 5 minute cartoon produced for NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope. The Aegis Awards are the video industry's premier competition for peer recognition of outstanding video productions and non-network TV commercials.

"M51 & Gizmo" was honored in the "Training / Education" category for its outstanding production quality by a distinguished panel of judges representing industry professionals from around the country.
